You know how some people say having alot of friends means you have a life? Well my sister seriously just told my mom that talking on the phone is her life GOAL so that my mom wouldn't take away her phone priveleges. I mean seriously!? and she talks about me because i have only a couple good friends. Which is better do you think? a few or alot?

it better to have a few or even one good friend than have a bus load of people who you think is your friends. So you are ok, your sister obvious need them to feel secure about herself. She would probably crash when she really finds out who her true friends are.

Having a life means doing more than being on the phone, lol.
how can you have a life if you're always home on the phone, life is what goes on outside the house, lol.

Some people, like myself, prefer quality to quantity. That's something one learns with time, I of course am a whole lot older than you, so I've been there learned that. I have a few friends, all of which are trustworthy and can be counted on. How many of your sis pals are just fair weather friends, how many will be around when there isn't anything in it for them?

I think your sis is just insecure, has low self esteem and can't live without being the center of attention and the feeling of perceived importance by virtue of having a lot of hangers on.
She's probably jealous as well, for some reason, maybe her friends aren't real friends..

So be yourself, enjoy the friends you have, don't worry so much about what your sis or other people think. Do what is right for you.

A few because you really get time to
know the people and trust them
some of the many friends you have if you have alot could turn around and stab you in the back
because they were your friends but not absolutely

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...if you have ONE true and good friend in this world you are blessed. If you have more you are very lucky indeed.

When you are young you will have plenty of friends but as the years go on and you go after your own pursuits very few stick by you. That is when you come to know who your real friends are. Time and distance should not change or alter the bonds of friendship if they are true friends.

Your sister has a lot of acquaintances. I'm sure that she talks with them all the time, but I doubt that any are truly personally significant, and if something was to happen so that she would have to get rid of one, I doubt she would bat an eye. I truly doubt that in her sea of friends, there is one that your sister think of as family (if she was asked and she honestly answered). I would rather have a few good friends that I can drag into war and still know they will be at my side covering my back than have an army of fair-weather acquaintances any day.

But, that's not to dismiss your sister. We do what we must to make us feel valued and loved, and your sister gets that from being a part of a large crowd. To each, their own; just be tolerant of your sister.

Well I kind of think both. I have a lot of friends, but there only a few of them I see all the time that I consider my best friends. I don`t talk on the phone all the time, but atleast 2 30min conversations a day.

I've never really had a whole bunch of friends. People are going through weird stuff...in high school...It's better to have a few good friends, than to have a bunch of people who don't really care about you following you around. Ignore your sister. It sounds like she's getting caught up in the whole "image" thing. Stay YOU.

In all of my life, with all of the people I have met and associated with. I only have two real friends. One of which I am in love with, the other is like family to me. I'd rather have just them than a whole bunch of friends who prove to not be really friends when I need them most. I learned you find out who your real friends are when push comes to shove. I used to be in the military. I once had over 200 'friends'. When I left, they all turned on me and some in aggressive ways. I lost allot of 'friends' but realized who was really important in that little group.

It's better to have a fough close friends that you trust and the rest just friends. You can lean on your close friends whenever somthing bad happens in your life. You also know you can trust them with your secrets, so they won't backstab you. Close friends last longer then just friends. Your sister may get backstabbed eventually and she may not have anyone to lean on because those people she calls just "friends" may go on somone elses side, but you know your close friends will always be on your side. She may be getting dissed right now without even knowing about it!
