Shouldn´t we have learned enough from our ancestors?

Because people are still people, and people are inherently selfish and greedy. That will never change, regardless of ideas such as 'ethnic' or 'racial' 'harmony.' That's a fool's goal. People will never stop being the way they are.

And people have to study the past in order to learn from it. Western culture, primarily Americans, has never been one to study much history.

Actually it is because we learned from our ancestors. Cultures pass on bad ideas as well as good ones. It takes more than one generation to rid a culture of prejudice.

I think that most of us have. Unfortunately, in any group of people there are about 5% who are total s*o*b*s and get their pleasure from hurting others either physically or psychologically.
