i just bought and installed a usb network adapter linksys wireless G (60$) but i still could not connect to the internet .it says "connected to the link souce but internet could not be found".i dont understand is there something else i need to do.the signal level is said to be good but still there is no connection to the internet.

There are a few places around that offer 'hot spots' to allow guest access to the Internet. You should do some asking around to see if that is available where you are located.. And if it is, what you need to connect to.
Just because you are connected to someones access point, doesn't mean you will access the Internet.. The access point that you are accessing has to have access to the Internet as well. (be carefull connecting randomly to different access points) some people can actually have you convicted of 'stealing Internet access' or some such...
If you want to get wireless Internet access the normal way, you need to call your local cable company, or phone company to see if they offer broadband access, with a wireless router..

In addition to the wireless adapter for your PC, you also need a wireless router. Also ensure that your system has an IP address.
Click start-->Run
type cmd press ENTER
type
ipconfig /all
press enter
verify you have valid IP addresses for your network.

Do you have a wireless router? And what kind of internet connection you are to use?
