..."I am for socialism,
disarmament,
and ultimately for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of propertied class, and sole control by those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal."

The ACLU doesn't know people are felons for life. There is no such thing as a "former felon".
The ACLU also thinks that felons should be able to vote. America's founding fathers would not be happy with what they are doing.

ACLU Sues Florida Schools Over Cuba Book Ban.
"The American Civil Liberties Union asked a federal judge to stop the Miami-Dade County school district from removing a series of children's books from its libraries, including a volume about Cuba which depicts smiling kids in communist uniforms."
http://www.kxmc.com/t/schools/17120.asp
The ACLU doesn't know propaganda ("Che", "Mao", "Fidel","Stalin", "Lenin", etc) and other agendas can still be determined to be illegal under U.S. laws. Also, under certain situations is actually illegal for people to wear communist gear. For example, under U.S. law, it is illegal for people that wear communists t-shirts ("Mao","Che", hammer and sickle, etc) to come to the U.S.. Those people can be denied visas into the U.S., or they can be sent home as soon as they get off of the plane. It is also illegal to provide a green card (permanent residency) or citizenship to those people.

The ACLU also translated its Arizona flyer into slang Spanish. The ACLU thinks people without identification in Arizona should be able to vote:

http://www.aclu.org/images/asset_upload_file701_24533.pdf
"Si a Ud. le negaron el derecho al voto solamente por no presentar identificación, por favor llame a la ACLU de Arizona al 602-650-1967".
In English that basically says "if you are denied the right to vote because you don't have identification then call the ACLU."

Arizona Voter-ID Law: Alive and Well For Now
"In May of this year one of those challenges was successful; a suit brought by the ACLU and others was rejected by a Federal judge but that Federal Judge’s ruling was then reversed by the most controversial appeals court in the nation, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The 9th Circuit Court issued an order, with no explanation attached, saying that Proposition 200 could not be enforced in the 2006 election. The Arizona Attorney General , Terry Goddard, then appealed that ruling to the Supreme Court and yesterday in a unanimous (but unsigned) ruling the Supreme Court reversed the 9th Circuit — putting Proposition 200 back into effect on November 7th."

As a Card Carrying member of the ACLU I can tell you there is no doubting the ACLU's concern that there are untrustworthy public officials who will invoke national security as a cloak to cover their own wrongdoings; the pages of history are full of them and our current government is a prime example of it. Cheney alone shows how an imperial executive will deny not only the will of the people, but the Constitution of the United States, and will most often do so under the fog of war or a national disaster. Despots and dictators do not take over a country when it is strong and vigilant, they take over when it is scared and fearful. The ACLU stands for every American's Constitutional Rights, that same Constitution that the leaders of this country and those in the military swear to preserve and protect.

That may be a quote by a member or supporter of the ACLU which you've taken out of context. It is surely not the policy of the ACLU. The ACLU protects everyone's Constitutional rights. Just as it did when it defended the Republican Party's right to free speech when it took the GOP case against campaign finance reform. The ACLU has also defended Ollie North and Rush Limbaugh. If those guys are such patriots why would they let Communist lawyers defend them?

yeah, disarm the country. GOOD idea!
Someone should watch the Simpsons once in a while. The Monkey's Paw episode: Lisa asks for world peace... all weapons are destroyed, what happens? We're attacked by aliens who take over the world and make us all slaves.
So, if the US disarms, we'll be picking up baseball bats, and rocks to defend ourselves against the enemy of the other countries that did not disarm.
How stupid can a single entity be?

Without a link I cannot see if this quote is taken out of context or not. Even if in context, if we were to hold every member of an organization to what one or two members said, then there wouldn't be very many formal groups left.
==Edit==
I've looked on the link, unfortunately the page you cite doesn't show up. Wierd, since it shows almost 200 other pages. Still, for sake of argument, I will accept that your quote is accurate and in context. I still question why this somehow damns the entire organization. Some republicans believe we should nuke Mecca. Does that mean the entire party is genocidal and wants a full blown world war? I don't think so. I support the ACLU, am not a communist, and own a gun. Kind of blows your implied generalization, doesn't it?

The United States will never be dis-armed. Since the beginning of this Great Nation, firearms have been every mans use for hunting and protection. If your for disarmament, then your not a true thinking American. If your a communist, then go to a communist country. You don't belong in America. Go to Cuba or some other country where you can lead the way, with your goals, but you will not succeed in America. If the ACLU plans to dis-arm Americans , they will have a rude awakening.

One of the main problems with the U.S. is the proliferation of militiary bases. Did you know we have bases in 149 countries? The U.S. should not be the world police. We should not have that responsibility. We should be working towards peace. But the rich and powerful make a lot of money by taking advantage of the less fortunate. America has lost business overseas so the rich can pocket higher profit margins. We are all at risk because of it. If the U.S. pulled out of the Middle East, we might see peace. We need to match our words with our actions. We need to pursue diplomacy before going to war. We need to exercise patience and not take anything for granted. We need our government officials to work harder. Bush has taken a lot of vacation time that he hasn't earned quite frankly. I'm not a fan of the Democrats. They have a lot of work to do. They need to get a backbone. I know these issues are quite complex.

While I can argue some of their positions, generally I disagree with what they actually seem to stand for. The pretend to have the goal of upholding the constitution. But, in protecting the rights of the few, they trample those of the many. I believe it's the ACLU that is responsible for blurring the line between speech and action and the corruption of the guarantee of "freedom of speech" with "freedom of expression." It is Machiavellian how they do these things and then try to tell us that they're doing it for our good.
This is one of those things I would oppose.

The ACLU actually cares for the masses, you know these people that are not good enough to be in our country club, sleep with our daughters, be our elected officials.
Why can't America see that the ALCU is dangerous for us, the power elite in America? There is no purpose for their existence except to be our bogeyman, so that our friends can get better fundraising, and give us our government that we have bought and paid for.
Jail the ACLU!
