It was defective and returned to the factory. They corrected any problems and sent it out to be sold again. It is probably more reliable now than a new one.

These are usually merchandise that has been returned to the manufacturere because it was faulty and still covered under the warranty. The company takes it back, fixes the problem (i.e. "remanufacture) and then sells it again at a lower price. They usually also have the same warranty as the new ones.

remanufactured means at one point it was damaged and returned to supplier which couldnt be fixed then sent to repair station then fixed and put back for sale at a lower cost

It means the vacuum was sold, returned because it didn't work, then the company repaired it & the store resold it. I will never buy another such vacuum. It didn't last long after I bought it. Lesson learned.

They took a piece of crap that someone turned in for a trade and, painted it, did a few things to make it sound and look good and sold it to the first person that believe their story about buying re-manufactured goods.

it was shipped to a place where a tech fixes and cleans the vacuum then it is sold at a cheaper price.
