HP or Toshiba.
No matter what you buy, be sure NOT TO BUY APPLE. If you do, you're wasting your money and won't be happy (Note: Apple has a sales team that works these boards -- prepare to be bombed with ads for Apple)

Lenovo or Toshiba.
I prefer Lenovo over other brands because lenovo work perfectly well. Battery life is superior. It has a professional look. Didn't you say you are going to school for that career? Get the computer.

I agree with the above post, HP is the best way to go. Don't buy an apple if you are going into computer science.

Sony laptops are the best, Alienware laptops are also REALLY good
Although the price for an Alienware laptop is a bit high, its a great machine
