This is my first trip to Canada. I am from the US. I will be renting a car when I land at the Montreal International Airport. I need to visit my company in Joliette, QC. I know the directions and all...I want to know how big of a deal it is to drive...considering the traffic, driving rules (??), and that I will be reaching Montreal at 1240 am.

if u are not tired, you should drive just fine. there's a little traffic on the city but not that bad because its not rush hour yet (rush hour is between 4-6 i think) once you get on the highway your drive will go pretty smoothly.

If you're asking are they cheap for not putting you up at the Airport Hilton that night, then yeah. But it's probably easier to drive then than in rush hour the next morning.

Very easy as you take "40" all the way, on the "Trois Riviere" direction!

One hour drive at that time!
