It depends on how strong the relationship is. If the relationship is built upon trust and long term committment, then yes it can and has worked. If your relationship is immature, young, new, weak, or there is jealousy from one or both then it can't work. New relationships aren't strong enough. And if one is jealous then that person will keep wondering if the other is cheating.

i was involved in one. It worked for the first 8 months or so but after that, it became very shaky and eventually ended.
The issue w/ ldr's is that there needs to be a time frame before it actually becomes a ldr as to when the distance will end.

Long distance relationships depends on the person. If you are clingy, needed, or always need to know where your man is at...probably not a good idea.
I was in a long distance relationship when I was younger with someone in the Navy. I, unfortunately, was cheated on. That is always a caution with a long distance relationship.
Obviously, it is for you to decide whether or not it is worth the effort and energy! Good luck hun!

Some long distance relationship will work good but some are not, but I think most of them didn't work for some reason.

Maybe if you were already in an established relationship where you can both trust each other.
I was in a new relationship where the man I was seeing had to move away for a job. It lasted all of two seconds.

They take alot of hard work. You have to spend lots of money to travel and see each other. It's emotionally draining because there is alot of trust involved. They can work if both people make an effort to make it work.

I don't think long distance relationships work bcuz it's too much quality and quantity time away from each other, unless you find people who are that committed to each other and the relationship and make it work.
For me, this kind didn't work for me!

it works to certain people...
i've involved in it once....it only lasted for 4 months...cos we lacked of communication , so i couldnt trust him so we broke up...
so i think that communication and trust are really important in a relationship...without that, short distance cant even work at all i think...

In 27 years of military life I saw enough cheating by both husbands and wives who were apart to know that they seldom if ever work.
