sorry but it is. most universities don't like accepting old students that have not come straight from high school.

It's is a tiny bit older than the average, but you'll be surprised how many students there are who are your age.

Of course, it may also depend on the college you attend. Some undergraduate programs have a younger student body than others.

More and more students are taking a one or two-year "gap" year between high school and college. There are also many young men and women doing a military stint prior to college in order to save money for the tuition.

If you go to a large university, you will meet students of all ages. I just graduated from a small college (master's degree), and this year the graduates ranged in age from 24 to 58!

More important than your age is the fact that you are doing it! Also: because of your age, you will take more maturity and focus to your studies -- so don't let ANYTHING keep you back. Go for it! And all the best to you!

Not at all and in no way...there will be a certain percentage of other entering students who might be ex-military, folks trying for better careers & able to fit in a night job with day classes... no problem, you'll fit right in. I did 2 years of college at the 'appropriate age', and then went back in my 40's and finished my B.A....and was by no means the Oldest Student Ever Seen in any of my classes! You sure won't be at age 25...so go ahead on!

It really depends on where you go to school. Some schools have primarily traditional freshmen, who are 17-19 years old; at others, the average entering student is 27-28 (especially at commuter-type state universities).

Good lord - you're still a youngster! No worries and no problem, you will be a bit older than a lot of the freshman, but big deal. I went back to college at 26, divorced with a kid and it took me til I was 35 before I could finish but finish I did!! First kid in the family to make it thru college. I was bound and determined to do so and I did it. You're never to old to go to college and you're never too old to learn. You'll find that the 'kids' think you're cool because you're older Just go, enjoy it and have the time of your life!!!

not at all, I am 28 and I am going back to school to finish my BA, I received my AA in 1999, so it is never to late to go back to school. Just Remember companies weather hire people with years of experience and working on their degree than someone who has no experience and get their degree at 22. Because they have spent 4 years in college with no work experience. Good Luck

Not at all. The average age at my institution is actually 28 years old! You'll see many older than you walking around campus going to class, who made the smart choice in furthering their education.

This is a good age to enter into a university! You will be more adult and focused. By this time you are more willling to work at your degree as you know what it took to get to were you are now.

Not impossible. I did it. We had a few old guys in our class. You connect better with the profs. Better study habits. Less distracted by hormones.

Don't take grief from the kiddies. Just keep telling them that you babysat or changed diapers on children older than they are.
