Your chance of getting pregnant the day before you ovulate are zero.

Your chances of conception by having sex the day before are optimal, but you do not actually conceive before you ovulate. What is important is that the sperm is there and ready for the egg to emerge from the follicle. The egg will live for 12-20 hours, so it's crucial that the sperm is there waiting for it.

Assuming there are no issues, the average odds of conception during any given month is 20%.

The ovum has to be available for fertilization, which can't happen until after you ovulate.

If you actually mean, "If I have sex the day before ovulation, does that increase the chance that I'll get pregnant?" Yes, spermazoa live for days in a woman's body. It's even more likely if you do it the day of ovulation; that's the whole point of taking your temperature to find the brief spike in temp.

The day before ovulation is actually the highest fertile day of your cycle. You won't get pregnant that day because there's no egg yet, but if you have sex that day you will ensure that sperm will be there waiting for when that egg is released the next day...thus, increasing your chances of conceiving.

Good question!

okay, stop and think about what you're asking.

Ovulating is the act of your body releasing an egg. In order to get pregnant the egg must be in contact with sperm.

You cannot get pegnant if there is no egg. Therefore you cannot get pregnant before you ovulate.

However, if you have SEX the day before you ovulate, you can get pregnant when the egg is released the following day. Sperm has a long life span, a few days, in your body.

Very Good! Sperm can live up to 3-5 days in you. Then your egg will live about 12-24 hours. So, conception would actually occur like a day later.

Rather good since semen can live in there for 48 hours and when you ovulate the egg releases for 24 hours. Good luck
