I would suggest putting a few panels on your roof. Too many panels in a field may look ugly and can get pretty pricey. So yeah... put a few on your roof and use the intended "solar panel field" to start a veggie garden. If you search "Solar panel kits" of just "Solar panles" on Yahoo! I'm sure you can find a company that will ship to you. Other than that i'm not sure how you would set up the wires or any kind of batteries. Sorry if it hasn't helped at all.
