It's easy to say they simply perceive the world through their other senses but what would this be like? I suppose spatial relationships would very much be recorded through touch and hearing and these sense would be much keener because of the necessary focus put into them. The brain would form it's representation of the world around it through basic comprehension of space. Color would probably be a foreign concept.

I'm personally very visual spatial and my memory is very much visual. I couldn't imagine what it's like to lose this ability or to never have it. Perhaps imagination plays a part in filling the gaps. It's definately a thought to ponder. It could bring us better understanding of how a mind works and adapts to its circumstances.

Thats a deep question. Cant believe I never thought of that b4. The only way you could know is to ask someone who was blind and even if you did how much would they be able to describe it to us in a way thay we understand. Its not like someone can say close your eyes and thats what its like; because when we hear or feel something around us, we CAN picture it in our minds, but they CANT because they've never seen anything.

I believe a blind person sees the world, as sighted people, with all it's faults and all with all it's goodness. The good bad and ugly.

they have their feelings just like a normal person.
They picture the world based on what they hear and feel. But we can never describe how they form their/our world in their imagination.
They're like a child absorbing all the information from what they hear and create their own galaxies, stars and universe. and that is where their life evloves.

They can hear and smell much better and their world is based on what they interpret from those senses only along with their feeling of touch.

This is an interesting question, but one only a person in the blind-from-birth situation could answer.

this could be answered in the same way as one could answer the question "How could beethoven know what his music was like?"
it's based upon the other senses, imagination, and a strong sense of rhythm(or at least in mr beethoven's case.)
