I think you're asking if you need to begin menustrating before you can get pregnant. This probably means that you are 11 or 12. I hope I'm wrong...

Until your body begins sending eggs down the fallopian tubes, you can't get pregnant. When this happens, that's when you get your period. So in short, if you don't menustrate yet, you can't get pregnant. However.........if you had sex right before the first time you ever got your period, you could get pregnant. So don't have sex!

Also, getting pregnant isn't the only thing that could happen to you when you have sex. Getting STD's or AIDS can also happen and that's a very bad thing that can follow you for the rest of your life.

Don't have sex!

Generally women ovulate about 14 days before their periods.

You can get pregnant if yuo have never had your period and have sex when you happen to be ovulating, since the egg is released before you bleed.

Being on your period means you are bleeding and shedding your uterine lining. Having sex during that time doesnt lead to pregnancy, although its not impossible for it to. Some women ovulate on any day of their cycle.

Do they even offer sex ed classes at your school or did you just opt out of them because they were 'gross'?

You can get pregnant at any point of your menstrual cycle; the likelihood of getting pregnant during certain times is very low, however. The odds of getting pregnant while on your period are slim. Now, having sex 1.5-2 weeks after your period ends is just asking for a heap of biological trouble.

Instead of believing your friend (who probably heard it from her boyfriend), ask your school's health counselor. Some of them even provide condoms.

Usually it is more unlikely to get pregnant when your on your period but it can happen. If you are trying not to get pregnant just don't have sex. If you are trying to get pregnant the greatest chance is during ovulation which is 14 days after the first day of your period.

If you are asking when can you get pregnant? No, absolutely not. You can get pregnant anytime, but there are times that you are more fertile.
