is it weird to want an ex boyfriend to like you as a friend again after you've been broken up for a couple yrs? i know he probably doesn't really care about being my friend again being that we haven't talked for awhile and live in separate states. i just have a weird sort of thing where i like to stay friends with people and not have things end on a weird note... i couldn't tell you why we even broke up but i guess because we grew apart or he liked someone else who knows but when i asked him he said he "forgot" but anyway i was just interested in staying just friends ive had a bf for several yrs now... is this worth a try and how would i go about this? thanks...

um i didn't "suddenly" want to be his friend after several years, ive talked to him for a couple years now just wanted to improve our friendship but apparently reading everyone's comments on here that's a horrible thing to do, he wasn't in my past i've talked to him ever since we broke up i just wanted to improve our friendship, i respect everyone's opinion but if all you plan to do on here is pass judgement don't waste my time or yours k thnx

It's not weird. Try to be friends. Don't drill too much on the past.

Why start something you've lived w/o & have been fine w/it for a couple yrs. now? Do you really need him of all people back in your life? You already stated you have a b/f, why would you need to bring up the past in your present life. How would you feel if your b/f suddenly wanted to start a "friendship" w/one of his ex g/fs? Would it make you happy? I honestly would suggest to leave well enuf alone. You've done fine w/o him in your life up until now, I don't see any reason to change it at this time in your life. It's not going to make you any happier or add anything to the quality of your life today. I sure wouldn't do anything to risk my happiness if things were going fine in my life as it is. Think about what you're asking. Like, how important is it?! I'd leave things as they are & not take any chances on ruining a good thing you now have.

Oh please! Now you and I both know that you only want to be friends so that you can try to get him to like you again. Listen deep down in everyone on this earth (wheather you or anybody else wanna believe me or not), are never gonna stop lovin your ex boyfriend or girlfriend. I don't know why we still love them but, it never goe's away until you get to the point where your in your senior years (like my grandother)

What's the point of staying friends if you already have someone else and he's out of state anyway?

Its not wierd if the situations right. My gf wanted to be friends with her ex and she managed it however if your boyfriend is like me he won't be too happy about it

I don't think its weird, because we all want everyone to like us. But sometimes it can be selfish to keep asserting yourself in a person's life when they hurt just looking at you.
