I am 14 weeks pregnant with my second and have been experiencing the strangest of problems. First I would wake up in the middle of the night, as usual, only I would make my way to the bathroom only to discover that I could not urinate. The feeling was terrible and I had to go something terrible. This has happened maybe 4 times. Today I noticed my scrubs were a little moist I guess and I went to the restroom to find out that apparently my bladder had leaked! I didn't have either of these problems with my first child. My mom says it is quite common during subsequent pregnancies yet I can't find out anything about it. I have an appt in a couple of weeks and am trying to decide if I should just wait and ask my midwife or if it is sounding more like an infection that I should call about immediately. What do you think? Has anyone else experienced this? Oh, and I also get some rather terrible pains in my right lower side, as if I have held urine for too long.

Just call your doctor. I went through the same thing. I tried waiting until my next OB appointment and ended up in the ER after a week of waiting feeling like I was peeing razor blades. It isn't worth the discomfort, and it is very common. I think I had two during my pregnancy.

Sounds like you have a urinary tract infection which is common for pregnant women. Thats the signs of a UTI is the going to the bathroom and nothing coming out. Later signs will be burning. There is so much that could be happening, the baby could be on the bladder making you feel like you must go or causing the leaking. But you have to worry about your kidneys, your bladder, and your uretha. I would call your doctor and schedule an earlier appointment and have them do a urinalysis because you would want to treat any problem that you might have before it gets worse or become painful or a really bad dicomfort.

See your doctor. Have a urine culture done to make sure you don't have an infection. Also, some women have a tipped uterus. Usually, this will resolve itself as the pregnancy progresses, but sometimes it doesn't. In this case, as the baby grows, the uterus places pressure on the bladder area and prevents you from urinating. Good luck!

Generally if you have to pee and cant its because of a UTI. However, the uterus actually sits right over the bladder, and a lot of the time it can crimp the line. A lot of women have to push up on their bellies to pee.

Have her do a UTI strip while you're in the office next time.

Bladder control issues are also perfectly normal. Do your keigles. OR however theyre spelled.
