I haven't been to the Ekka in about 15 years, but I really want to - I said I would make it this year, but alas, it is not to be! I thought it was crap last time, and I'm sure I'll think it's crap this time, but it has a certain charm

Did you get me a Bertie Beetle show bag? Please say yes!

No.
Don't miss it.
It's kinda pathetic, outdated and overpriced.

When I was a kid, the Ekka was the ONLY time of the year that we could go on rides or see livestock (without visiting a farm). There were no theme parks to visit on demand. It even coincided with the August holidays (we had only 3 terms in a year until the 80s).

Sure it's a fond memory of my childhood, BUT it should have gone long ago... along with black and white TVs.

No, I won't be and I never have been. My main reason for not going is that it is a complete waste of money. I would prefer to take the kids to Dreamworld for the day, at least once you get in you don't have to keep forking out $6 each ride!
Plus I don't want to risk catching that awful flu going around.

No way, with an Entry Fee that is sky high, Plus rides + Show bags, for one person your down $100. Unfortunatly, there are better things to spend that money on. Not to mention getting sick.
