I have been experiencing all the signs of pre-eclampsia, except high blood pressure. Can you have pre-eclampsia without high blood pressure? I have light sensitivity, head aches that won't go away, and hugely swollen ankles. But my blood pressure is nice and low (106/56). I don't have a house phone and my local cell tower is out of service, so I can't call my dr right now. Anyone here know?

I had preeclampsia with my twins without high blood pressure..well the high blood pressure came but towards the end of my pregnancy. I had very normal blood pressure throughout my pregnancy..of course a lot of swelling (which yours just might be normal swelling) My face swelled and my hands so if yours start to do that then I would call asap!
Also I had A LOT of stomach pain..not where the baby is but right at the top of my rib cage. Also I saw lots of black stars. They didnt test me for it until I gained 13 pounds in a week. I wouldnt worry about it, but I would run it by the doctor as soon as you can.

Yes you can have Pre-eclampsia without having high blood pressure. I just went to see my midwife on Friday and the first thing she noticed when she came in the room was how my face was swollen. She looked at my chart and my blood pressure was ok a little higher than usual but not high. She looked at my feet, ankles, and legs and all were swollen and she said even though my blood presssure wasn't high it could still possibly be pre-eclampsia. She told me what other signs to watch out for and if I even had one of them to let her know right away. Now insted of going back in 2wks she wants to see me Wednesday to check on how the swelling is and said she would do a nonstress test to check on the baby and make sure she is getting enough blood to her and check for protein in my urine. She also said that if the swelling gets to bad and starts to cause problems for me or the baby or I get any other signs that they would likely induce. I hope I helped you and good luck in your pregnancy.

I had preclampsia and I found out when I went into my checkup and my blood pressure was really high, they put me in the hospital until they got my blood pressure back down to normal.I don't think you have it.Swelling is normal durring pregnancy. My sis had it to and she was sooo swollen she was twice her size, face and everything. They had to fly her down to the Phoenix hospital in the hellicopter and had to take the baby at 6 1/2 months, he weighed 3lbs., but lived.Anyways I really don't think you got it, but to be safe, call your Dr. soon as you can.

Preeclampsia is caused by your renal system being overloaded and toxifying your system.

Headaches and migranes are totally normal with pregnancy, especially later on. Swollen feet and ankles are also common.

What you want to watch for are seeing spots or double vision, high BP, and swelling in your face and hands. ESPECIALLY your face.
