Well, I would find it hypocritical.

Here's my answer to the question "Why do most proclaimed animal lovers only love "cutesy" animals?", this pretty much relates to it.
" Yes, I noticed it a long time ago. Of course, they think those other animals being eaten is alright. But, when it comes to something so innocent, so cute, so deserving to live, they gasp and think "How horrible!" while eating their meat dinner. Lol. It's basically the same when it comes to rabbits and "regular" meat too. When people see others eating or slaughtering, say, a rabbit, they go "DEWD THAT'S LIEK SO CRUEL!!! It deserves to live zomg!!!11" [or something like "OMG UR GOINAA GO 2 HELL!!!"] Because rabbits are pretty popular pets and very well known for the standardized cuteness, they think it's wrong. But when it comes to chickens, pigs, cows, everyone is pretty calm about consuming it..
Very hypocritical.

Just because an animal is a pet or has certain advantages, don't justify them to have more 'rights' than other animals."

It's retarded when someone says that the animal is supposed to be eaten, meat eaters could've started off with rabbits, dogs, or cats as normal meat (but they are still consumed.) No animal has more rights than another.

There is no 'ok or bad' because that's just a standard. Some people love standards so much, they think it it's the prime definition for good and bad when it doesn't exist, but opinionated.

To the answer below:

Ahem, chickens and cows are capable of surviving in the wild. Grass , grains, and plant based foods are what they eat. Psssh, like they need to be raised by humans.

Of course! I mean, just because you love animals doesn't mean you can't eat some types of them. I love animals, and trust me, I love 'em a lot! But, I eat pork, beef, chicken, and turkey, and it doesn't bother me! If people tell you that if you love animals, it's not right to eat them, then that's their opinion on food. There's a lot of veterinarians out there that eat different types of animals. I understand your question, though. There's a lot of people who do find eating animals a problem, but that's what they deal with. That's how they live their life, and I'm cool with it, even if I love animals. If you love animals so much, you can still eat your every day food, so don't be scared. I have 2 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, and 3 cats...my life REVOLVES around these animals. I have to take care of them 24/7, non-stop, and for lunch, I would eat a hamburger if I had to if I was hungry from a long day! But, even if I do eat a hamburger, I'll always, forever in my life, love my pets. They're my little babies and they deserve my trust and care. :)

Because they don't see deer meat being sold in the grocery stores alongside pork and beef. They don't understand where any of their meat comes from, and so anything that isn't from the grocery is unusual and barbaric. The reason that you don't find deer meat in the grocery is because deer aren't herded and raised on farms the way that cows and pigs are. In order to get deer meat, you have to hunt for it in the wild. I like deer meat but you usually only find it here around hunting season. It's also more expensive than beef or pork so I don't eat it very often.

I love animals, I also love a nice juicy steak.

Growing up on a farm we raised alot of our own animals for food. At one point I did quit eating meat for awhile, for fear I'd be eating a calf I raised since birth. But then I realized, I'd rather eat the cow that I raised than some cow I know nothing about. Sounds strange, but I've got reasons.

First and most important I know that cow had a great life. The cows we raise have plenty of room to roam, grass to graze in the summer, the best hay in the winter. They aren't shot up with growth hormones or antibiotics, and they get the best vet care when they need it. Compare this to a feedlot cow crammed in a tiny space, fed feed full of antibiotics, no room to run and play.

I don't see anything wrong with eating meat, but I do believe that the animals we use for food should be given a quality life in the time they are here.

Its okay to love animals and eat meat at the same time. However, if you care about how the animals were treated before being served on your plate do some research to make wiser choices. For example, did you know chickens are kept in horrific conditions, tiny, filthy, stinky, overcrowded cages their entire lives while producing eggs? Try going for farm fresh eggs from free range chickens who live their lives happy and healthy.

The majority of animals we eat in our daily diets, cows, chicken, turkey, pigs, Wouldn't be around if it wasn't for man raising them and taking care of them. How long would a chicken survive in the wild? Or a cow? Pet the cute little animals and tell them how cute they are by all means. But when your stomach starts growling thats natures way of saying to eat up.

btw, I like dogs but I'd eat one if its all their was. Come to think of it, I'd eat my neighbor if thats all I could get.
