claiming a child?

Question

I just had a baby in June and I was wondering who would be better claiming her, me or my boyfriend? We both earn about the same amount of money. However, I both sold and bought a home this year. He is not named in either sale. Who's better off claiming the baby?

PS- We both will share the money since we live together and have our savings together, so whoever gets more......

Figure your taxes both ways, and then choose the way that has the two of you paying the lesser total tax.
