Ok.... i feel like a dork for asking but... Im curious. We are TTC #1, and Im in my fertile period right now, got the CM going and we are doing the baby dance regularly etc.

I was wondering though, if I went swimming, and then afterwards we had sex, would the chlorine and pool water have disrupted the PH of my vaginal fluids or washed out the CM, or interfere in how well my Dh's little guys swim to their destination? Would I be drier? I really want to swim because its incredibly hot here but Id hate to disrupt our chances of conceiving this month.

But I feel like an idiot for even asking the question but you guys know how it is. You get paranoid about everything you eat or smell or how you exercise.... "will it affect our chances"...

Just have sex and be pregnant. Stop trying to make nature do what its made to do. Be fruitful and multiply. It really can be that easy. Especially when the stress is off.

I know its hard, but its good advice, trust me. Ive been there.

I cant imagine that it would change anything. The water is not going to be in your uterus, and all the sperm that count are the ones that make it through the cervix at the time of ejaculation. The ones in the birthcanal are useless. Just extras.

The biggest thing is just to be relaxed. If you cant relax and will end up stressing because you went swimming, dont swim.

With both my kids, I just made sure to have sex as much as possible during the 4 days or so of ovulation. I won't lie, after 4 days of sex just to get to the end result, we were both kind of dragging. It was a lot of "I guess we need too, huh?" Haha. I won't lie. With my daughter, I did the whole "legs up in the air" thing. I feel like a 'tard now, thinking about it. I'm sure it helps women who might be having a bit of difficulty conceiving, but I was doing this the first month we started trying! With my son, I was a lot more relaxed about the whole thing. We had a 2 year old at the time, so I didn't have time to lay around in bed for 30 minutes, ya know? I remember jumping up and going pee right afterward and my husband being all "should you be doing that?". LOL We are thinking about trying a bit after our son turns 1 (which is in September) but the most I will do is know when I am ovulating.

It's not a stupid question -- I often wonder the same thing. For example, I'm in the 2 WW period now, but my husband and I are going to the beach this weekend and I'm wondering whether I shouldn't go into the ocean. You're not an idiot -- you're smart to ask! Good luck.
