My husband &I built a brand new home and we have no landscaping yet. I want to landscape with perinnials, so they come back every year. We live in Indiana. We have the 4 seasons. Any tips will help.

irises, mums, daylillies (any kind of lily really.) columbines, bleeding heart bushes, clematis vines, daisies, tulips, canturbury belles, strawberries.... My only advice is research when each plant is in bloom (or just read the tag at the store.) you dont want to plant only irises and tulips together, for example, because they both bloom early in the year and then they both die off by the fourth of july. then anytime after that you would just have this dead spot where nothing is going on for the rest of the year. of the list, the plants that bloom early in the year are: irises, bleeding heart bushes, strawberries, and tulips Those blooming later in the year: mums, lillies, daisies, andclematis. columbines and canturbury belles stay in bloom for most of the growing season. So try and time the garden so it is not in full bloom one month and dead the next. Check any plant store for plants that grow in your area and look around for stuff that you like. I live in Wisconsin so most of the plants I've mentioned would grow in your area. Good luck!!
