Yes it is normal. You never mentioned that this was a prostate exam, so I'm not going to assume it is. I'm guessing you are talking about the hernia test. The doctor will need to examine your testicles for a hernia. The old "turn your head and cough". This can be one of the most uncomfortable experiences you can have. Since your doctor will be feeling around your area and rubbing your testicles, it is very common to get an erection due to the stimulation or just being nervous. That does not make you gay. It is a normal body reaction. Your doctor will be okay with it, he has seen this many times before. I try to think of something un-sexy, like homework or work stuff. Most of all don't look down.

Don't worry about not being gay, nobody's perfect! If you're having an rectal exam or prostate check that'll cause an erection almost guaranteed. If it's just 'cause you're nude and that embarrasses you that'll cause an erection too; like when you have to shower at the gym. If the doctor's handling your junk that's physical stimulation 'cause they need to examine it. That, coupled with embarrassment will probably cause an erection. The doctor has seen everything, so just chill.

Well I'm not a guy, so I'm just venturing a guess here...if he's examining you there, chances are the doctor's touch is going to cause an erection. I wouldn't worry about it.

Hmmm...HARD to say when you aren't specific. Makes a difference whether it's a rectal exam or, say, an eye exam.
Seriously, if you really aren't gay, it could just be nervousness. Then again.......

Be more specific...female or male doctor?

Either way, I don't think it's not normal.
There's something touching your penis, it's going to react

No David, I told you this was perfectly normal. Now shut up and go to bed!
