i noticed everybody makes fun of eachother and teases each other constantly justtofigure out whos in control. and im getting sick of it.it doesnt really mean anything. its just joking but it getsreally annoying. especially inhighschool.

The shortest answer is lack of confidence. You are mentioning high school. Everybody has a need of belonging to some group or status( even adults- especially adults). If you are different, you are marked for fun and jokes. It may refer to the way you dress, the things you are interested in, etc. It´s a whole wild world out there. Then again, some people may say- it´s human nature.

There are two types of "picking on" people. The first is when friends poke fun at friends... it's not meant to be hurtful.
The second is when people pick on others to cause harm or hurt feelings. This type of behavior simply suggests that the people doing the picking have low self esteem and are trying to make themselves feel better.
I go t picked on throughout school, and yes it does suck. But at the end of the day it makes you a stronger person. Just try and look at the positive sides of it, as you will NEVER get everyone to stop this type of behavior.

I have done my share of mud slinging and a nice young lady reminded me that we should all be a little nicer to each other. I have tried to do my best but fail at times when these answers bother me. When people like you ask these questions it always reminds me of the answer I gave her. Thanks for the question. Most of the time people are joking around, but for those who aren't, they're just insecure, mean, or psychotic. Try not to let it bother you so much. I'm a little sensitive too, but I've found it does no good to complain about stuff. Either ignore it or do something about it.

It makes them feel above everybody else. Basically the same principle as bullying. Only between friends it cant really be considered bullying. It's not just mostly in highscool either. I know someone, who constantly makes fun of everyone around him. It drives me crazy!

Well most of the time people who makes fun of other people have personal problems with their life and take it out on other people but I think it still dont give them the right to pick on people like that because its a major issue in the people life.
