from the looks of your system, your a bit outdated. your motherboard still runs agp, which is fading away. a lot of newer games run dx10. there are no agp cards that support it, only pci e x16 cards. id say ur better off building a new computer and selling the old 1 or using it as a 2nd computer. you can run a great new gaming system for under $700, even less if u part out the old computer for things like the hard drive/cd drives.

heres what i would do in ur shoes.
motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813131187
processor: http://www.newegg.com/product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819115030
ram: http://www.newegg.com/product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820227231
(they have a combo price on that processor/ram)
video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814130085
that takes you to a total of $523.96 + a $40 and $15 mail in rebate for a total of $468.96 after mir.

thats if you use ur current case/cd drives/ hard drive
this is a very big upgrade fom your current computer. right now you have a p4 3.2ghz with ht. this new processor is a core 2 duo, that runs at a lower clock speed, but for 1, its dual core and will easily beat ur current processor, and 2 c2d's are very overclockable and you should be able to overclock it to around 3.00ghz on stock cooling. the new motherboard will give you support for ddr2 ram which runs much better speeds than the ddr u have now. it also has pci e instead of ur current agp. the ram is much faster ddr2 and 2gb instead of the 1gb u have now. the graphics card supports dx10, so u can play any new games. its only 256mb, but will be fine for you. even will all this i wouldnt run at the very highest settings. i would only do that if i was running a high end card like the 8800gtx or 8800 ultra which run for $500+ alone.

if you went this route, you could sell ur motherboard/cpu on ebay or something. or if you have another older computer, these parts may be an upgrade for it

Ah, definitely. Your motherboard is another factor, though, because if it's old, or slow, you won't be able to use this card to it's full potential. But with this card you shouldn't have a problem. I've run fear at max resolution with less.

I would recommend getting another gig of ram though, it would make a huge difference.

YES, except for Oblivion, one of the most demanding. X1950 Pro AGP would be a bit faster. 7950GT AGP is faster. And do not get 512Mb v-ram if it is just ddr2. You will just feel miserable.

it should be good. But make sure your motherboard supports AGP. for tahts the old graphics card standard. The new ones are pci express x16.

The card will do for now but I would buy one with more memory.
Resolution...1200xwhatever???
any higher and you would need a magnafying glass or bifocals to see your desktop.
