Simple. They care about you and not want anything bad happen to you. The old adage is You pick on the ones you love the most. In this case they love more than themselves. It must be nice that you have someone nag in a good way. I lost my mom last year and I miss her nagging me to come from Texas to MI where she use to live.

I used to hate it when my parents would nag. Now that I'm older, it seriously is because they care about you. Can you imagine having a child and letting them loose out in the world? Not knowing where they are or who they're with? What if they're doing drugs or doing something illegal? They are just trying to raise you the best way they know how. Whether it be nagging you to clean your room or calling you every 10 minutes to see what you're doing...parents are trying their best to raise a respectable, responsible adult. Take it with a grain of salt now, you'll understand when you're older and have kids of your own.

Because their job is harder than you can imagine. The responsibility, time, and energy they put into raising you is the biggest, hardest job in the world and they don't want to fail you. So don't fail them, give them some credit and CLEAN YOUR ROOM! When you leave home and start to settle on YOUR own two feet without any help. You will be sooo happy and they will be sooo proud. Love is hard kiddo. Don't sweat the small stuff. A little nagging is worth it.

Because the children don't know what they're doing half the time and when us parents try to help or correct them they consider it nagging instead of advice from the wise.

Quite often, they want you to be what they couldn't be.
Do they nag you about schoolwork, grades, etc??????
And often, they are not able to "cut loose" and let you be your own person.Like going to church, etc?
Sometimes, this is very difficult.
Somehow, i had no problem letting my daughter be her own self. She did well for herself,I give her all the credit. All I did was stay out of the way.

They would not nag, if kids actually stopped to listen.

Because we know what is best for you better than you know yourself. Trust me, when you're a parent, you'll nag too!

unfortunately, for both parties involved, that is our job. I nag at my kids only because they do not remember to do the things they are told to do without it.

I'm a parent, and it's because we love you so much!
(If we didn't nag, you'd think we didn't care.)
So just do what we ask, and we'll stop nagging.
Love, Yo Mama
