...I can face my own problems with no sweat. Like i just see life as...things happen, you cope and move on. But when confronted with other people problems. i get stressed. And i withdraw myself. Maybe its cause i don't know how to help them? i'm not sure, but dealing with others problems is much harder than finding a solution to my own.

Is this the same for you?

You find it difficult to deal with other people's problems because it isn't your job to deal with their problems. You aren't a trained therapist so, therefore, would have no knowledge or experience in dealing with the problems of others.

People shouldn't be bringing their problems to you. Why don't you just tell them that you don't know what they should do about their personal situations, and to go talk to a trained counselor.

Do you have trouble saying "no" to people? Or, do you listen to everyone's troubles because you don't want to hurt their feelings? If so, the problem is your unwillingness to be assertive, and stand up for yourself.

I think that the people who are dumping their problems on you need to be told that you're sorry, but listening to them is stressing you out.

Yes its true, it is difficult to find some solution to other's problems.I think all you have to do is just advise them with your own opinion wheter they take it or leave it's up to them. There's the psychologist (professional) to deal with some complex problem like mental, marriages break-ups,etc.but with you own problems you can weigh things accordingly. If it doesn't materialize then you need 3rd party interference too. Some just kept their sentiments to themselves which is not good, have someone to open up &get it out of your chest.

...Because while you may THINK you have "all your Ducks in a row..."- If you look CLOSELY- a few of those "ducks" appear to be missing... So until you find them- it's probably JUST AS WELL- that you avoid trying to help anyone with THEIR problems. Hang in there- & happy hunting!

try to handle their problems as you would your own, what would you ask yourself in their position? how would you try to fix things?
if you're asked directly, you could say something like, "i'm not sure should rely on my opinion but if i was in a similar situation i'd.." and tell them how you would handle it.
good luck!
