First , you beleif that its a dont care attitude is wrong. Every educated man and woman discuss all thats happening around the world. There is no doubt that they are not aware. Corruption, politics, film and glam ,yea they are all part of it.
The reason why most of them show that attitude is that it doesn't directly reflect /affect their lives. If it does then see the change in that nation/country, region/population.
Its called mass behaviour.
Those who have a common interest will fight , by hook or by crook. Dont believe then check the Tobaco lobbies, reservation beggars...they will.
For a common man there is no point where he needs to wake up . So they sleep. Every system has a main nerve, try breaking it , it responds.
So you dont have to change it. if you do, its good. but the course of action will eventually be the same and reach the same end. A Revolution.
Good Luck.

I have travel the world over many times, and I must say that this practice of accepting bribe is common in many countries, not just India. The more I travel the more I appreciate the United State of America. The answer is no, you can not change their mind because that what they see their parents do, being a role model for your children is very important, and of course they respect their parents alot more than they do you, so there is nothing you can do. Just like trying to tell the Middle Easterner to denounce Muslim and become Christian, it is impossible.

The attitude to which you are referring is called APATHY. It is likely a remnant of colonization and poor government. It took decades to instill in the people, it will take at least that long to change it.
How to change this mentality? Most change starts in education. If the education system is revised, and promotes equal education and employment opportunities for ALL students, regardless of religion or caste, then there is hope that those students will change the consciousness of the larger population. This of course requires the co-operation and financial support of the government and the educators.
It is not an easy task. Perhaps one taken on by smaller groups of young individuals who see the pitfalls of apathy and who are willing to sacrifice to promote action in the people.

The oversimplification can on occasion be tense, however the situation is complicated and it does not make sense to state the completed scientific history or each and every ability caveat for each element being reported. with reference to the folk who in basic terms don't understand extra advantageous, this is in basic terms a mirrored image of who's available and we could desire to contain particularly everyone interior the communicate and recommendations. in line with threat they are going to hold around long sufficient to make extra stated contributions interior the destiny. interior the interim however i do no longer think of which you will give up human beings from seeing it as one OR the different. There are businesses paying thousands and thousands of greenbacks to verify that illogical yet clever-sounding arguments are in front of the standard public on a relentless foundation, so get used to seeing them. For thsoe specific pastimes, the longer they could foster the visual charm of a few super debate or controversy, the longer they could postpone our reaction and the extra money they make.

I'm East Indian, and you can't change their mentality just like that.
I have tried to do it through arguing and giving valid points...even offering written evidence to refute some people's views.... A lot of Indians are very stuck in their ways and aren't ready to let go of tradition. We will just have to sit back and wait, or die trying. I don't know if you're Indian, but if you are..just set a good example for yourself and hopefully people will follow along. Not now, not in 50 years, but they may do it eventually.
It's a pessimistic view, but I don't know what else to do.
