I am thinkin about gettin a Chevy Lumina Euro Spec (real name is Euro Sport...I just think "Spec" sounds cooler) for a daily driver when I start constructin my hot-rod.......my grandparents have one and they absolutley LOVE IT. They say its a car thats cheap to come by, comfortable, reliable, American and quite powerfull....which is true because they have 200+ hp and torque. So what are some of your guys opinions. Do/have you owned or driven a Euro Sport/Spec Chevy Lumina (1990-94 are only years made).....if you have then lemme know what you though of it. Thanx!

By the way.....if you have driven a Lumina but don't know if it was a Euro Sport.....heres how you know...it is quite powerfull, has a low spoiler on back, and made between 1990-94

The transmissions in the 92 and the 96 I own would not hold up . The 3.1 in the 92 got 33 mpg while it ran though . The 96 with the 3.4 got 28 mpg .

They are decent cars.

And the grandparents are right they are easy to find and pretty cheap to buy.

The bad about them - you can't really beat on them or you will blow the head gasket fast.
Also the front suspension is pretty weak, as far as the sway bar - end links - struts.

Other than that they are good rides - what is the hot rod your building that would have been a great addition to the question

3.8 eng or 3.4? Either way ( I perfer the 3.8) Sway bar end links can be changed from rubber to neoprene. I have a friend who has 500,000 + on his and it still only burns a qt between 5,000 mi oil changes. He is like me a GM gypsie and transferred all over the midwest area
