If so, please explain how he collected, by hand, and stored enough of all the different kinds of food, and what did he do with the dung? Elephants alone make a lot of dung...and while you're at it, where is all the water today, that covered the landmasses?

"Not I", said the blind man. Oh, you're going to get a lot of responses to this question, and I am sure that religious zealots will have their "logical" explanation of this Biblical tale. But you and I both know why you posted this question under Mythology and Folklore and not Religion and Spirituality.

Not me. Seriously, how did Noah get polar bears and penguins in Palestine? I mean, if the one up there performed a so called miracle, wouldn't Noah's neighbor notice the strange white bear who tried to eat their babies?
And those so called "scientific findings" are ridiculous. If, as they say, Noah's ark will never be found, due to thousands of years of weathering.
The Himalayas can be explained by plate tectonic. Scientist did find fish fossils there and has indeed proofed that it was once underwater.
There is millions of kind of insects in the world, and Nomatter how big Noah's Ark is, it won't hold them all. Some try to argue that there is fewer species back then, but how did the rest of the species come? The little black book says that the one up there stopped working since the first Sabbeth. The only logical explination is evolution, and not many Christians like that answer.

Yes, I Believe fully in regards to Noah and the Great Flood. There have been Scientific findings of the huge wooden beams on top of the Mountain, where the Arch was wedged, after the high waters subsided. Even at the foot of this Mountain, the Large timber remnants were discovered. God told Noah about how He would destroy the sinful people who would not listen to His warnings. God sent the Flood to cleanse the earth. Noah worked hard to prepare for his survival as God had instructed him. Noah would have cleaned the Arch, just like he would clean anything else he lived in. The Great Flood waters evaporated and subsided. It took many days for the waters to subside. Then Noah , his Family and all the animals walked for many days, down the Mountain. And the story goes on . God said, He would never send another Flood. Predictions are , that the next cleansing will come by fire. In the Book of Revelations, it tells so much. I Believe .

Of course all this happened!!!but you can't ask questions to things that you know people don't have the answer to.You have to have faith,to say that you don't believe in the Flood is to say that you don't believe in the accounts and miracles of God.he is an all mighty being that can do anything but what you really have to realize is that he was doing amazing things to show that he was the Almighty God over all the other false gods but he dpesn't have to do those things anymore because he gave his only son for us.And by the way you could burn all kinds of dung and maybe he took to kinds of all the animals he knew in the world, you have to remember that this happened aloooong time ago.

The Biblical Flood account is based on the flood story from the Assyrian "Epic of Gilgamesh". There are many flood stories from around the world, probably stemming from the sudden melting of glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age.

not I. anyone who does needs to go back to skool.

the ark would have been too big to stay afloat cause it would have leaked and because steel and water pumps weren't invented back then. And it would have been too small to encase all the animals. And what about all the salt water fish and the sponges and coral? They couldn't survive in the fresh water that comes down when it rains.

the rain comes from the water on the earth. There is not enough water on the earth to flood the entire earth to those extremes. Plus the altitudes you'd have to have to cover the tallest mountains...the oxygen would be so thin, you'd suffocate that high!

Why not? Remember, it was God's will. Then consider also that the Ark of Noah was built in such a way that the bottom-most deck was a receiving platform for animal dung. The cages and living space was in the upper levels. Finally, the animals were only there temporarily, sedate (for lack of a better term) by the inclimate weather. Animals tend to look for refuge and then go into a semi-hibernation state when the weather turns bad.

It could have happened that way. Where is all the water today? What if the axis shifted displacing the then existing oceans with today's oceans?

Personally I don't.

Here's the thing: There are dozens (or even hundreds) of cultures that include some version of a cataclysmic flood. Why should Christianity be left out?

First off a world wide flood did take place... Now it either happen during Noah time, Or it happen later.... But never the less scientist have found complete evidence that a world wide flood has taken place... Now I totally believe in the bible and accepting that this flood happen during Noah time period is very easy to accept because of how the scientist are able to place the date of this flood to the time of Noah.... As for the other stories about this world wide flood... Their timming is off by a few thousands years...... So until it is proven differently that flood happen the way just as it is written in the bible.......................................................................

I believe in it. I might not know all the answers, but I believe that God helped Noah to find those answers, and that people back then knew the truth of the word WORK and I don't doubt that it was trying to acomplish this but Noah did as God commanded.
To answer your question about where did the water go.... Best example I have is where does the winter run off (water) go after winter? And have you ever noticed how river and lake water can still shrink.
There may be many reasons, but faith is not about having to have each and every detail explained. Its about believing that God made this happen.
There are two types of people those who except faith in something they can't see and prove but feel in their hearts exsist. And the other type who have to prove to themselves that something is real, that it can be scientifically explained.
