ok, completly sidetracking from the question, but in my experiance, when a computer dies, it is probly best to just get rid of it, and buy a new one, depending on the age of the computer. if its more than 4-5 years, i'd get rid of it. if you got it within the year, talk to the company and they may refurbish your computer, so before you go to a "hospital" call the company and talk to a technichan, and they can tell you what to do, unless it is urgent that you get your computer repaired now, then i'd call the company and ask if they'd give you the money ittook to repair it. if you get rid of it, i have a recomendation for you, i'd go for a hp compaq, they have an internal program that lets you reset the harddrive to original factory defaults, and the problem will most generally be fixed, unless it has to do with a fan or something, the reset will take care of the operating system if anything happens, like a crash. it will prompt you to create recovery disks, and i highly recomend it, so if your harddrive gets toasted, all you have to do is buy a new one, and you can put the recovery disks in and install the original proggraming onto the new hardrive. i've used the system recovery 2 times now, and it works great for fixing problems. of course, the second time i created the disks, and it hasnt crashed. i would recomend getting a dvd to burn the info on, or you'll need 12 cds, and it takes 15 minutes per cd. the computer runs smoothly, but i have no idea what it will do with vista...this is xp...like i said, i'd just throw out the old one and buy new, seeing as after repairs it might be worth it to buy new, and sometimes a repair wont work very well. but if you just love your computer, i'd take it to a radioshack, bestbuy, or geeksquad, they can help you out.

Go to Best Buy on 23rd street and 6th Ave. They have a Geek Squad.
You should consider what is wrong with your laptop, and whether it is worth being repaired. Many times, it may be cheaper to buy a new one, and sell the old one on eBay.
If you are having software issues, you can probably insert your Windows CD and reinstall Windows, if Windows is the problem.

Did you call Staples? They are in Union Square, next to Starbucks, opposite the park. Call them, look online for phone number, or call directory assistance.
