Your Dr will likely talk with you about this when they cut the cast off. They will re-xray to do a final assessment (most likely). Depending on how long you have worn the cast (and thus how much the muscle has 'wasted') he may tell you to wait a few weeks. ... I know that a person generally is at risk of rebreaking for a few weeks after a cast is removed.
Ask your Dr specifically about your concerns and how to proceed. You don't want to reinjure the bone or over stress the muscles. The Dr will have the answers.

Speak to your orthopedist and ask about a physical therapy referrl. A physical therapist can evaluate your level of need and shape a home program or a program at their facility to improve your strenght and range of motion in a safe manner.

I say ask the doctor what he/she thinks. You don't want to over do it.
