Unfortunatley beyond changing you filter and cleaning your outdoor unit with a hose there is not much you can do. It can be a few things, most likley your compressor is not running.

Even it is dirty it should have a little cool air, either the condenser has gone bad or it needs to be topped off with coolant which the repairman will do, while he's there have him give it a good cleaning. It just may be cheaper to buy a new one!

the quickest thing to check is ..... the pan in the attic,if it is full of water......your unit will not cool....some where on the pan there will be a drain pipe normally it is made of white plastic going in the direction of the sewer drain make sure it is free of debris....use a water hose to force it clear...then pour a 50/50 solution of water and chlorox in the drain pipe to clean out any algae....if there is no water in the pan, check the filter in the return air vent....next go out side and make a visual check of the unit is the fan blowing?...its time to call the a/c tech
