The Colts are one of the most historic teams with a winning record, mainly because they were formerly NFC. Think back to some of the Colt Greats...
Johnny Unitas
Bert Jones
Jim "comeback kid" Harrbaugh
And then of course Peyton Manning
Lydell Mitchell
Marshall Faulk
Eric Dickerson
Edgrin James
Just to name a few
The Colts are my favorite AFC Team even when they are not The SuperBowl Champs.

Since I'm an NFC guy I can easily choose 4 AFC teams.
1. Browns - I was born in N.E. Ohio.
2. Patriots - I love watching Tom Brady play and Belichick coach.
3. Colts - You're not a football fan if you don't love watching Manning come to that line like a general ordering his troops.
4. Texans - I'm a Cowboys fan from Dallas, but the Texans have become loveable losers here in Texas.
5. Dolphins - Zack Thomas is my favorite defensive player. Man, that guys in on every tackle.
Oops I chose 5. Oh well.

1. The Pittsburgh Steelers
2. Whatever AFC team is playing New England/Baltimore
3. Whatever AFC team is playing Cincinnati/Cleavland
4. Whatever AFC team is playing Atlanta
I feel it's necessary to point out, as others have, that the Cowboys are in the NFC.
Cheers!

Dallas is in the NFC. Looks like you're a bandwagon fan. Romo and the defending champs. Not surprising. Mine are:
The ones that are playing teams from the NFC, that way my Vikings get a better chance at the playoffs.
