Are you talking about the old records that you play on a turntable?

A vinyl album is a large vinyl record with a number of songs on it, usually 16 to 20. It has to be played on a turntable that turns at 33 1/3 rpm.

Ha Ha. I feel so old now!
I still have vinyl record singles and albums and put them on
my old record player sometimes. I think they called the
singles 45s back then if I remember right.
Thank You Claudia, that's it!

Vinyl is commonly refered to as a "record", and the record player is what you play it on.
