I don't think so. A lot of people know they're not the most attractive people in the word. The people you see in the movies are likely attempting to break into show business. They probably have no problem with a movie portraying themselves that way because it's all part of the job. I'm sure a lot of them focus on things other than their looks to get by and are used to it.

Definitely not insulting as they are being paid to portray the character. They are agreeing to play the role so should have no problems doing so. There are several instances of attractive actors/actresses taking roles where they aren't so pretty.
Examples: Brad Pitt - Kalifornia, Gary Oldman - Hannibal, Charlize Theron - Monster, Helena Bonham Carter - Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix, Christian Bale - The Machinist, etc....

I don't think it is. After all, they're acting and probably trying to get their foot in the door. You have to be versatile to be a good actor and once producers see what you can do, doors open to more parts. Not only that, look at Halle Berry. She had to beg Spike Lee to let her play the part of Samuel L. Jackson's drug addict girlfriend in Jungle Fever. He said she was too pretty. Now look at her. She's gotten more parts over the years. It's not about what you look like anyway, it's about how well you can play that part and make the audience believe you!

Not when they're paid enough! LOL! And guys with lots of money should never have a problem getting chicks, regardless of looks.

Sometimes, they take their original appearance and "make them ugly." Everyone can do it. You can frizz your hair and put on ugly glasses, as long as they change something to do that, I don't think they are insulted.

My guess would be that they wouldn't audition for the part if they were insulted by it.
