Period irregularities are very common on the shot. When I was on it the first time (I have used it 3 different times in my life), after about 3 years I bled non-stop for the entire shot cycle, till I switched to the pill (I was told there was nothing I could do in the interim however, except to just deal with the spotting). The doctor explained that it was because my body has adjusted to the hormone levels. It may be that this is what's happened with you as well.

Just to be safe, contact your administering physician and get an appointment.

well if your burning when he climaxes inside you, you should check with your gyno for stds to be safe. I never heard of that side effect before. Also, birth control messes with your body like that. I had a period for 3 weeks straight...mostly from light light days. I got off them and just back to using condoms. Plus the shot can make you gain alot of weight. I say leave that stuff alone

That is normal for some women on the shot. You could bleed that way for months.

IMO I really would reconsider getting the depo shot again. TOO many women have too many negative side affects of the shot.

Google "Depo provera lawsuit" and check out its reviews on http://www.rateitall.com

I'd call my doctor asap- like now and talk to the answering service. Some one is on call. Or at the very latest, tomorrow. I don't like the clotting issue.

i had the same symptoms as this when i had a shot, infact i ended up bleeding for nearly a year continuosly after and ended up having to go on hormone replacement therapy. i have now gone back to the good old condoms, they protect you from std's and don't mess with your hormones and your body!!
