If I remember correctly the fastest ever timed was Deion Sanders currently the fastest is Reyes, but the question is in MLB History.

I would have to choose from one of these three candidates:
1. Ricky Henderson
2. Deion Sanders
3. Eric Davis
Notice that none of these are current baseball players, fastest currently is Jose Reyes, or Juan Pierre.

Herb Washington, a designated runner for Oakland in the 1970's, was a world-class sprinter. You'd have to think he could hold his own with almost anyone. Deion Sanders probably was up there too.

Mickey Mantle, if I recall correctly.

Since he was such a power hitter, I think a lot of folks forget how incredibly fast he was...

One of the best all-around baseball players in history, and 3.1 seconds to 1st base to boot!
