I didn't bother buying a new printer or scanner because what I had was working fine with my old computer windows xp.My printer is epson stylus c66 series and my scanner mustek 1200 ub plus. Will they be compatible with my new windows vista, and do I just stick the disc's in and take it from there?

I'm afraid there doesn't appear to be a Vista driver for your Epson Stylus C66 series printer, nor your Mustek 1200 UB Plus scanner. Bearing in mind the age of both of the products, I would imagine that it's unlikely they'll produce them either.

Sorry, but it looks like either saving up for new printer and scanner or going back to Windows XP.

hi Christine, i also made the mistake of buying a new computer for my son with Vista installed, his Lexmark printer, his camera, his webcam and an external drive are all incompatable with Vista at the moment, i got a similar answer from all of the manufacturers "we don't have a compatable driver at present". even some of the larger companies have not bothered with vista drivers, maybe they know something that we don't. as mentioned earlier, ensure compatability before trying to install software. take care and good luck.

CAUTION: Do NOT use the disks until checking the manufacturers website. Using the wrong driver disk can lead to a mess on your computer which is likely harmless but could lead to future problems.

The manufacturer should have instructions on how to install your old printer on a new Vista system.

millions of ppl have the same problem, most now only work basic print only. do not buy anything for your new computer unless you know it comes with specific VISTA drivers.
the only real solution is new printer and scanner or revert back to XP
I was lucky I had my old harddrive so I fitted it to my new computer and now I have a dualboot system. so any printing or scanning I do on the XP drive not perfect but it saves buying new

if the disc doesnt work...check the manufacturers site for updated or even beta drivers for vista, if not then windows update would have what you needed. You can try to run the software in compatibility mode but i am iffy on that.

Check on the Epson website for the current software or drivers for your equipment that is for your current version of your operating system. If it is compatiable they should have upgraded software and drivers there.
