During restringing I like to clean my guitar, mainly the fretboard. What is the best way to get all the gunk off and not damage the wood?

Cleaning the guitar should happen at the time when your changing your strings. Once all of the strings are off time to clean! But don't just go and grab some paper towels and soak in water and wipe down. Thats gonna damage your fret board and making it barely playable and its gonna be time for a new guitar. Many ways to clean the guitar.

1. Take a GUITAR cloth or a soft cloth and clean in between the frets. If you really want it clean take some windex spray some on the CLOTH and rub it on the BACK of the fret board and wait for 5 minutes if nothing happens then try on the fret board it self.
Tip: Don't use your finger nail to do this, (Using the tip of your finger nail and pressing down on it). If you press hard enough it will leave marks on the fret board.

2. Take a metal ruler and begin softly using the side of the ruler to scratch out the gunk on the fret space but do it easy.

There are other ways both i use these the most for fret cleaning check out this vid.

Don't ask about some of the weird things in it lol.

Once done cleaning put your new strings on and rock out!
