Ok, i have a push mower with a vertical drive shaft, how can i get that to power my wheels?? I need tips too. Plz no crappy answers!

Here is what you could try. Use a belt not a chain With pulleys.
You should be able to twist the belt the 90 degree's between pulleys. A tooth belt and tooth pulley's are a possibility they won't slip. A regular V-pulley may slip and burn but is a cheaper set-up. I don't know if you can get a clutch to fit your motor so maybe direct drive?

I take it that the motor is a 4 cyl ? [don't have to mix oil with the gas] if so it will NOT run on its side, if its a 2 cyl it will run that way, Mount the engine in front or rear of the wheels, use 2 pulleys mounted on a shaft thru bearings, [called pillow block bearings] run one belt to the rear wheel shaft, the other to the motor, you should be able to purchase a centrifugal clutch for the engine, [see a small engine dealer, ]
this will allow you to start the engine and let it idle ,with out moving the cart, to go just Rev it up, PUT brakes on it.

go to mfg suply buy the doit ur self gokart thingie for 500 bucks
buy a clutch and turn yer engine sidewyas itll work i did it but i used a weed whacker engine
