Advil works the best, but if you don't want to take anything, warm baths help, heating pads, and if they're always bad, you could go on the pill and that will help it.

First....If you feel dizzy while you are having your period that is not a normal finding, and you should speak to your doctor about it.
Severe cramps during menstruation is called dysmenorrhea. If you find that the cramps interfere with your ability to function normally, then you may need to be evaluated by an ob-gyn.
If you do not have any stomach problems such as gastric ulcers, then you can take over the counter Advil. The label recommends 1-2 tablets every 6 hours, however your doctor can prescribe 800mg of Ibuprofen (Advil). 800mg of Advil is equivalent to 4 tablets @ 200mg each.
Some doctors will recommend naproxin sodium (aleve) But I personally don't prescribe that for my female patients since the results are not as good as ibuprofen (Advil).
In any case you should follow up with your regular doctor to make sure there is no underlying cause for the cramps accompanied by dizziness...

When I used to experience menstrual cramping like that, I always made sure to have some Pamprin or Midol. I also did not drink a lot of cold fluids, because it does not soothe your insides the way that something warm or hot does. I drank lots of coffee or hot cocoa, and got plenty of rest. You also do not need to be lifting anything over ten pounds, and try not to be on your feet to much. Those new Therma Care heat patches are very awesome to use, and I even use them for my daughter who has the same problems. I had to have a hysterectomy done because I had so many tumors on my uterus, so you may need to have an ultrasound done to see if everything is all right in that department.
Remember, if you are hurting so bad to the point that you can not function, get yourself to your OBGYN or the E.R. Going through pain like that each month is no joke, and I pray that you feel better soon.
Toodles,
P. Evelyn P.

there's a number of things you can do.
for most, birth control pills/patches take away cramps, or at least lessen the pain.
you could also take midol (i don't reccommend pamprin) for cramps or menstrual pain.
what i find that works best for me though are those heat pads you put on your underwear. they hide underneath your pants and provide enough heat to relieve most or all of my cramps. some people say taking baths, but they don't do much for my cramps. good luck!!! =)

A simple Tylenol or Advil can help. If that doesn't work, ask your doctor to prescribe special menstrual cramp pain relievers.
