Hi,
I have a female betta I got yesterday at Petco. Well after I looked at her closer from a birds eye view I realized that her scales had a very very very very very slight rise to them. So my question is currently she is in a 1 gallon tank with Jungle Brand Fungus Cure Meds and 1/5 tablespoon of aquarium salt, is that a good treatment or should I buy the more expensive meds like Maracyn? If so, what Maracyn?
Thanks!

Dropsy being untreatable is a common myth born of people using the wrong products to treat the underlying disease.

The only Maracyn product that has a decent chance at all of treating dropsy is Maracyn TC. To be honest, the active ingredients in that Fungus cure you are using do have a reasonable chance of treating the dropsy.

The best treatments I have found as Furanase, Furan-2 and Cipro. Some of the active ingredients in Furan-2 are also in the Jungle Brand Fungus Cure, so it MIGHT treat the drospy.

Best of luck with it.

Unfortunatly particular dropsy impacts many fish yet its like maximum cancers. some gets it whilst some won't. From what I rather have been advised it won't impact the different fish (so no could panic) till the fish dies interior the tank and the others consume it. yet once you eliminate the fish till now it dies then your opportunities are high fantastically severe that not one of the others gets it. I rather have additionally been advised that thoes that have susceptible genetics like the albinos and another chosen lines are additionally greater in all risk to be stricken by severe counts of dropsy. Sorry that there is no treatment and sorry approximately your loss. It does suck

If it is dropsy you discovered it quick and you might be able to save it with proper treatment. Usually it's to late. But dropsy isn't 100% cureable at anytime and if it is dropsy, your fish might not have long to live.
