It depends on what you're after:
San Francisco or San Diego are, in my opinion, two of the most beautiful cities in California (though both very expensive!)
For more a more nature-based trip, you could try:
The Mojave Desert
Yosemite
Lake Tahoe
The Grand Canyon (if you're in SoCal)
Redwood National Forest (if you're in NorCal)
I've always found the Nevada desert to be quite beautiful (along Hwy 50 - after Carson City). Beautiful scenery, lots of camping opportunities, and there is also a sand dune the size of a mountain out that way!

1. Las Vegas Nevada is pretty good. There are a lot of free things and it can be kid safe.
2. Disneyland!!!!
3. Grand Canyon
4. Hoover Dam
5. Giant Redwood Forest
6. San Francisco has stuff like Pier 49, Golden Gate Bridge
7. Knotts Berry Farm
8. Sea World

Head for Utah. There are a ton of scenic wonders there that the whole family can enjoy -- Monument Valley, Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands, Arches, etc.
The Seattle area and Olympic National Park is great too.

I'm the oldest and only girl in a family of five.Last month,my family and I drove to San Fransisco and stayed for about 3 days.My brothers and I absolutely loved it! We've also been to Texas and it's so much fun.Las Vegas could be a good one.Well,Good luck and hope this helped!

Have you visited all of cali? You could go to the Grand Canyon. Or yellowstone national park or any of the parks. Maybe places just for children.

stay in the west coast its the best you can go anywhere from San Jose to Vancouver or any where between there is lots of cool places to go.

the grand canyon is very nice and its not that far if you drive or if you want to stay i cali long beach, san francsico, san diego, lake tahoe is relly nice it borders cal. and nevada
