I started these irises from seed that I traded for. The person that I traded with called them Iris setosa, but I am certain that that is NOT what they are. This iris is hardy to at least Zone 3, it is about 18" tall, and flowers in early to mid spring (June) and it sets seed easily and is fairly easy to start from seed. Here are some pictures

Thanks, Justme. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. And yes, most of the flowers in my albums are out of my own gardens. Some are wildflowers. I am fortunate to live on a farm so have tons of room to work with.
Angel, I had a look at the Dutch Iris, and while there are some similarities, the petals of my Iris are a lot smaller. So I don't think that they are the same.
