I will have a uterus byopsy next week, and when I think about it I get SO nervous even my neck starts to sweat...

Anybody who has had one, can you tell me everything about it? does it really hurt? what to expect? etc.

Yes it does hurt but they can give you stuff to keep you calm before hand. My doctor gave me two pills and told me to take one and if I was still anxious then to take the other...it didn't hurt as bad but remember it is for a cause and it is over soon...I would call your doctor though and ask for something to keep you calm...tell him how nervous you are and I don't care what anyone tells you I have been there and it hurts like hell!!! Just take someone with you to help keep you calm...believe me it isn't that long of pain and maybe after you may need a pain killer but it only lasted me a day after.

I am not sure if you are talking about an endometrial biopsy which is where they take some of the lining from the uterus to check for things that are out of the ordinary such as cancer as one example.

If you are talking about this I've had friends get this done and my one suggestion is to make sure that you take some aspirin or something before the test (check with the doctor how soon before the test) because you may notice some cramping after as well. The procedure only takes a few minutes to do.

I have had three of them and I am not going to lie to you. You will more than likely have some cramping when they enter your uterus. Take some Tylenol before the procedure, it will help. Getting all worked up is going to make you more tense and that won't help you. It only takes a few minutes, some deep breaths and it will be over with before you know it. On a scale of one to ten I would rate it a four. Every one is different and its better to have it done than to face the consequences of not having it done. Remember that once they are out of there you shouldn't have any pain at all and they will do it as quickly as they can. All the best to you.

It definitely did hurt, and more than the doctor warned me that it would. But I didn't die and it didn't continue to hurt. By the time I had my clothes on I still wasn't happy, but I didn't have anything to complain about either. I felt a little disrespected, and I let my doctor know that I didn't appreciate feeling any pain down there. I asked him how would he have liked having the tip of his penis biopsied and he winced.

My point is, ask about the level of pain you may experience. Then tell them that you'd rather not feel the pain at all and to do what they know how to do to help you with possible pain.

I have had biopsies done due to abnormal pap smears. It was really not bad at all. It was easier than the dentist with just a little pinch. I would advise you to just take some Tylenol or Motrin to help ease the pain. I would not fear having it done again if I needed it. Good luck!

I had the cervix treated. A cyst had to be biopsied and I didn't feel anything. The physician stated theres no feeling in it.

no it wont hurt at all. the only pain you will go thru is the worry you are letting your self get all work up over nothing. i assure you the medical staff will take good care of you . good luck.
