Try Midol. There's different types. I'm pretty sure the regular kind has caffeine, and some people don't respond well to that. Midol Extra Strength seems to work with some of my friends, and it doesn't have caffeine. Also try mixing some of your OTC medicines. Like take an Advil and Tylenol. They're different, and together can cause better relief. Also try Aleve. When you take smaller doses of each of these together, they can cause better relief.
Aleve is an NSAIDS, which means it inhibits synthesis of prostaglandins, which are hormones that cause contractions of the uterus. Aleve will help reduce the contractions, and thereby also reduce pain (the advil and/or tylenol will help ease the pain that is caused by the contractions the Aleve doesn't completely stop). Aleve can even reduce menstruel flow.
My suggestion is to take an Aleve with an Advil or two. Take Aleve with food or milk.
If you want to try Midol, don't take it with Aleve or Advil, to see if it works good for you alone. If it doesn't, the Aleve/Advil combination should help. But don't go mixing all sorts of medicine at the same time. Be careful.
Also, exercise can help. Heat pads can relieve pain as well.

Jason nailed it. Midol is a major winner. If you want to do something a little more natural, there's a product out there called the NaturoPatch and the Rose Geranium for PMS is amazing. It constantly releases rose and geranium essential oils into the skin throughout the day.

I'm not joking when I say this, but try to eat 2 banannas a day. The potassium in them is great for preventing, and getting rid of cramps. It really works.

Actually, the absolute best and safest medicine for cramps is regular excercise during your period. Excercising helps blood get to more parts of your body, including your uterus. Uterine contractions are the culprits behind those nasty cramps.

BANANAS
YES! Have you seen professional tennis players eating a banana during a game?
This is an old remedy from my grandma (Mexican)
Eat ONE banana each day and you'll see them disappear!

CRAMPS is due to decrease in potassium levels which means that if we take a supply of it all ur problems would be solved, like BANANA which is a good source of potassium or just a medication like POTASSIUM syp or SLOW-K TABLETS.
