I run XP and my WISP is rather far away and I had to spend a lot of money for the gear to connect to it and can't afford a different wireless setup for each computer I have. Is there a way I can buy a cheap Linksys WiFi router and let my laptop and other machines in the house use the connection too?

I actually have one here that my brother gave me. I can't seem to get it to work at all. Pleeease help with detailed instructions

I have a yagi antenna blasting out about 25 miles... it uses N Type connectors to my amplifier, then from amplifier I have N Type to RP-SMA so it can hop on my wireless card. I don't imagine any way to get an N Type connector to an RJ-45 in order to plug my antenna directly into my router, since it seems to want a connection from dsl/cable modem.

That's my whole question... is it possible to share my computers current wifi by connecting to a wifi router via my ethernet port where my current wifi internet connection is. Or do I need a special router or adapter or what

I have a wifi connection set up with my wireless router between all my computers, but the router doesnt want to see my internet connection on my main computer (which is coming from the wireless provider), so none of my computers are able to hit the internet, only the local intranet

Yes, buy a LinkSys router for only $40 and then call them. They will help you set up to use wi fi with all your computers. Tech support is 24/7 and very good. Go online or your users manual to get phone number.

You can buy a simple 2.4GHz 54MBps linksys router for about $40-$50, and as long as the other laptops and computers have wireless cards, they can connect to it. I don't really understand much more of your setup to anwer further.. sorry!

what is the device that connects to your WISP and why can't your router fit between it and your main PC?

my usual source for broadband solutions is dslreports.com, btw -- seems they've solved near everything that can go wrong!!
