All the Apple commercials I see advertise Macs as being cooler than PCs. I mean, Mr. PC can't even do simple things like putting together a photo album. Is this accurate or is Apple just trying to BS their product on me?

First and foremost yes they are trying to BS their product on you. Its a simple advertising technique show how your better...but you're really not. Macs have imposed on the audience that they are superior. In everything like having no viruses, being the ultimate multimedia entertainment system, and etc. Which is only a matter of time before they find out how to send viruses to Macs and then what will happen. Their sales will go down because PC is the leading the market right now. And most editors, video games makers or whatever you want to call them PREFER PC's because they are easier to use and less of a headache. PC's are better notebooks then Macs well lets face it you can't beat Microsoft word... And most book writers use PC's to write nowadays, so PC is the superior computer in that area. Also are you really going to play World of Warcraft on a peice of $hit like Mac?

Because Mac knows they are losing thats why they use those commercials because their scared they will lose in the future. But yet their commercials are effective because they have had an impact on you to ask this question. So PC's are far superior.

Sorry, block of text lol.. Please bare with me..

Mr. PC can do photo organization. But not as good as Macs w/ their iLife. See, the commercials are over exaggerated, like Macs being cooler. Don't take them seriously, don't take any commercial seriously. you need to do your own research.

But the Mac commercials are sort of accurate. The whole firewall thing in Windows Vista is true, HELLA ANNOYING. The video looks **** if you use Windows Movie Maker and pictures aren't easily organized...

Apple isn't going to make a commercial with geeky facts (no offense to anyone, I am a geek myself lol) since no one would bother listening. It's all marketing, they want average users to know that this is what Mac is without coding in UNIX code or talking about Aqua and such...

I have to say that Mac or Apple products in general are much better than Windows and their distributors (i.e. Dell). Every Mac comes with a free suite called iLife 'Year (i.e. '08) that no other program for the PC compares with when you factor the cost of getting something like it on a PC.

Macs run on UNIX which makes it more stable compare to Windows. Trust me I have experienced the true meaning of stable (countless crashes in Vista... ugh...). Plus it harder for virus makers to make viruses for UNIX. And they don't bother because there are so few Mac users and it's also difficult.

Also, Mac only has one version and it's professional. No Home Premium, Home Basic, Business, or Ultimate. One OS version to rule them all. Look at Vista, Basic is missing Aero and craploads, Premium is lacking networking, Business lacks media and aero, and Ultimate is f'ing expensive. Oh and only Ultimate as DreamScene, aka moving backgrounds for Vista.

To the guy below me about more software... It's PC that are incompatible since Mac has world famous exclusive software called Final Cut Studio. Not to mention MS Office Suite for Mac has more features for the Mac compare to its (CORRECT TERM, WINDOWS) Window counterpart.

If you are forced to use Windows from work or health/life insurance and still love Mac OS X, get Parallels, VMware, Bootcamp, or Wine. See Mac users don't have a choice if they want to use Mac OS X or Windows because that is an obvious choice but people who develop a software which some people NEED continues to believe the age old Mac myths and develope for Windows.

Don't forget that Macs are the LEADING COMPUTER in education. No other Windows distributor has given kids and students the tools they need to express their opinions and creativity. Look at iLife bundled with every Mac, look at the built in iSight camera, and the microphone. Speaking of creativity, no post-production artists uses Windows, almost all successful movies (i.e. 300, king kong etc) used Final Cut Studio.

You see, Macs come bundled with software like iLife '08 and innovative software which allows for you to express your self, make simple movies, and organize your photo. You say, "Windows can do that stuff too...", I say how much did it cost for you to buy the software equal to the features that come free on the Mac? Acrobat? 450$? Macs can export to PDF for free. Windows Movie Maker? That's garbage, it makes very poor quality movies, especially in Vista. Take a look at iDVD and iMovie '08.

See, Mac OS X, Tiger, doesn't need so much gluttonous hardware like Windows Vista. XP if perfectly fine. However, Windows Vista set a new standard for the Windows world. A world where people need at least 2GB to get the full function of Vista Home Prem, DirectX10 cards such as the 8 series with at least 256mb of VRAM (or it starts sharing RAM), and the need for IT departments due to Vista's crashing behavior.

Btw, the guy who plays Mr. Pc prefers Mac.
Also don't forget Linux in the picture.
Take a look below.
