Is it common to ovulate early after first stopping the pill ? I heard that sometimes the body reacts to stopping the pill by producing an egg earlier than normal. Has anyone else heard of this ?

Yes it is very true and I have a 4 month old to prove it!! My husband and I thought it would take longer (we were "trying") but we were quite pleasantly suprised when the doc told us how far along I was...=)

Quiting the pill can make things very unpredictable. It can also give all sorts of "Symptoms" that can be misinterpreted (bloating, cramps, irritability, etc.). Remember, you're messing with hormones here and your body is trying to re-balance. You could very well be pregnant. I'd wait until a week past your expected period and test. If it's negative, wait another week and test again (if still no period). If that was negative, I'd head to the doctor. If the doc says not pregnant and you want a baby, I'd use an ovulation predictor kit to help you time your ovulation, as it may be irregular for a while after stopping the pill.

This is true, and it's why if you miss 2 pills you can get pregnant.
