La Dolce Vita in Little Italy on the east side is the best. It's moderately priced, the food is delish, and it has a great atmosphere.
Pacific East in Coventry is great if you're in the mood for sushi. Great food for a great price (or so I hear.. I don't eat seafood, so I order chicken dishes when I go).
Lolita on the west side in Tremont is good, but the atmosphere eclipses the food. A little pricey as well.
There is also an emerging "restaraunt district" downtown, around west 4th street. It's a very trendy, hip neighborhood, and if you're looking to impress, i'd definitely go there. You can also go hit some clubs afterward in the nearby Warehouse District if you're up for it.

There are some great places in Little Italy (Presti's Bakery, Trattoria on the Hill, Mama Santa's) that are romantic and fun. Nearby in Coventry I have been to Tommy's, which is an awesome vegan-friendly and deliscious place. Also, I LOVE Fat Fish Blue, which is a great creole style place downtown with live music.

Do they have Skyline Chili in Cleveland? I got used to this place when I lived in Columbus, Ohio, and I wonder if the chain is in Cleveland.
I know it's not the fanciest restaurant, but I happen to like chili with cinnamon over spaghetti . . .
